We get interesting news from the ESRB, the organization in charge of classifying games by age in America. Apparently, he is including news in his ratings.
Apparently, from now on, the ESRB is going to include an advert in all its classifications alerting in the event that the game has integrated purchases including random items. As you can imagine, this is related to those games that include microtransactions that we must pay with real money to obtain random items in the different video games.
The organization adds that "the original notification of dry buys will still be assigned to games that offer any other kind of purchase, including additional levels, cosmetic items and DLC expansions." It also specifies that this original notice "shall not be assigned to loot boxes or similar mechanics
The decision has been made mainly by those parents who are concerned that their children may spend money on microtransactions within video games. It is expected to start operating this year.
