Best Splatoon 3 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe players from all over the world will battle it out in Japan on Saturday the 13thth and Sunday the 14thth April, with all events to be streamed live in English on YouTube in the early hours of the morning European time. Who will emerge victorious in each match between competitors from Europe, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan, North America, Australia and New Zealand and South Korea? Europe will be represented at Splatoon 3 by Team KaiZer, who earned their trip to Japan in the ultimate grand final of the two-day Splatoon 3 European Championship, held on their home turf, Germany, in October 2023. After finishing first in their group at the first day, and dispatching the French champion Alliance Rogue in the first semi-final on day two, KaiZer – featuring Captain Isik, Zerr[eZ], newcomer flyzero and four-time German champion and former WMajin World Championship runner-up – brought their quality against Swiss champion Golden Ratio in the grand final. After an initial 2-1 loss in Turf War, they won four consecutive Anarchy Battle matches to secure a 4-1 aggregate victory. On the racetrack, European hopes will rest on France’s Thomas, who finished ahead of 23 other top racers in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe European Championship in October 2023. Going into the final two races in the event – Bowser’s Castle and Rainbow Road – it looked like as if one of the top three ώƒ Mars, Mario or starxlx will take the final victory. But it was Thomas who came through, finishing second in the final two races to add 24 points to his tally to top the standings with 101 points, a full seven points ahead of second-placed starxlx. In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Sunday the 14thth April, the qualified 6 players will race on 12 different tracks, combining those in the base game and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass DLC. Starting at the N64 Royal Raceway and ending at the Wii Rainbow Road, the racer with the highest point total after the dust settles will lift the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe World Championship trophy.
