Do you like frogs? Have you ever wanted to raise an army of bouncy little creatures? Developer Humble Reeds’ Kamaeru: Frog Sanctuary is a ribbit farm simulation that will allow you to bring that fantasy to life.
It’s originally only coming to PC, but we can exclusively reveal that Kamaeru will also be making the jump to the Nintendo Switch in 2024 — at the same time as the PC release. With beautiful watercolor images and a sweet little premise, the game looks pretty irresistible if you love your familiar simulations or are just a big fan of frogs.
Your journey to amphibian knowledge begins like any good farming sim — you need a break. Playing as Cleo who reconnects with her childhood friend Axel, the pair decide to work together on a renovation project that involves creating a home for the frogs. This includes making beds, sofas (yes, really), bathrooms and all sorts of cozy little pieces.
You can grow swamp crops and create ponds to invite up to 500 bugs into your little haven, but it’s not just about farming them. You have a small ‘Frogdex’ where you can document several different species of frogs. You will have to make friends, solve missions and visit three different biomes to help the frogs of the world.
Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge is coming to Nintendo Switch later this year. We will let you know as soon as we have a concrete release date.
