Pancake Games and Whitethorn Games announced today that the adorable-looking “Souls-lite.” Slime Heroes will hit Switch in early 2025.
This one will see you play as a sleazeball (naturally), tasked with dealing with the guardian of Fire Mountain and all of his menacing minions. To do so, you’ll need to discover an arsenal of melee weapons, upgrade your slime stats, and learn to master dodge combat. Yes, it looks like a beginner’s guide through Souls-likes.
Obviously, this is far brighter than anything from FromSoftware’s back catalogue, and it looks like the developer has gone to great lengths to make things as accessible as possible. There are magical gems you can use to tweak your build, the whole thing is playable in both local and online co-op, and there are even unlockable hats to boost your slime stat (and look good while doing it).
Here’s a quick rundown of the game’s features and a handful of screenshots from publisher Whitethorn Games:
Gain abilities and change them on the fly: Collect and spend an arsenal of gems obtained by defeating enemies and dynamically combine skills to create unique attacks that suit your playstyle at any given moment.
Play alone or with a friend: Venture out on your own or jump into a friend’s game at any time for a fun couch and online co-op adventure. With a shared loot system, you’ll both be able to create free abilities to fight against the fiercest corrupted enemies.
A journey through the vast world: Explore six different regions in a vibrant, vast open world and meet the gods who rule each region. Discover secret passages, hidden areas and unique puzzle dungeons, each with its own challenges to overcome.
Make your own slime: Give your minion some personality as you customize his face and colors to your liking. Find hats all over the map that not only give your slime extra charm, but also provide useful upgrades, keeping you stylish and ready for battle.
We still don’t have an exact release date for this one just out yet First quarter of 2025but we’ll keep an eye out for new updates in the coming months.
Will you be taking this early next year? Let us know in the comments.
