Since the game was released after Nintendo’s September 2023 Direct, F-Zero 99 has been receiving a slow but gradual update with additional content and various bug fixes. Most of the updates were previously announced by Nintendo, but the game now has a lot of content that it didn’t have at launch.
Well, Nintendo didn’t announce it in advance, but F-Zero 99 got another new update tonight. After the update, the game should be on version 1.1.5. The highlight of this update is the addition of a limited time seasonal version of the Knight League called the Frozen Knight League. The patch notes are below.
New additions
- Added Frozen Knight League, a limited time Knight League where it snows. All courses regularly included in the Knights League (MUTE CITY I, BIG BLUE, SAND OCEAN, DEATH WIND I and SILENCE) will be covered in snow.
- The Frozen Knight League event will only be held for a limited time. You can see how much time is left in the event by pressing the R key on the main menu.
- Regular Knight League and Knight League Grand Prix tracks cannot be played while a Frozen Knight League event is taking place (except for training and training modes).
- Added Boost colors used for machine customization as well as backgrounds, badges and borders used for pilot card customization. They can be unlocked when certain conditions are met.
- The customization items added for this update can only be obtained during the time that the Frozen Knight League is a live event.
- You can check specific conditions and progress for each item by pressing the R button on the main menu.
- You can customize it by selecting WORKSHOP on the main menu, then selecting MACHINES and PILOT CARDS.
Other repairs
- Fixed a problem that occurred even after applying Ver. 1.0.2 update where a certain badge could not be obtained even though the conditions were met. That save will be fixed and the badge can now be obtained.
- Fixed issues for a more enjoyable gaming experience.
