Since the game was released after Nintendo’s September 2023 Direct, F-Zero 99 has been receiving a slow but gradual update with additional content and various bug fixes. Most of the updates were previously announced by Nintendo, but the game now has a lot of content that it didn’t have at launch.
Well, Nintendo didn’t announce it in advance, but F-Zero 99 got another new update tonight. After the update, the game should be on version 1.2.0. This update adds private lobbies as a new feature as well as some new secret paths. The patch notes can be seen below.
New additions
- Added private lobbies. To redeem them, select a game mode, set a 4-digit passcode, then join the lobby. Players with matching game modes and codes can meet in the same lobby and race.
- Race results in the private lobby are not reflected in points, records or challenge progress on the leaderboard. Also, you will get less EXP and less points for tickets than in regular races.
- Added secret paths. They will occasionally appear in F-ZERO 99.
- The maximum level and skill rating for players have been increased. Max level increased from 99 to 399 and max skill score increased from S20 to S50.
- Levels 100 and above are marked in the game as ☆ = 1. For example, “☆00” for level 100 and “☆☆00” for level 200.
- Added one badge that can be used to customize pilot cards. After meeting the above conditions, you will be able to use it for customization.
- You can check the stated conditions and make adjustments by selecting WORKSHOP on the main menu, then selecting PILOT CARDS.
