Aniplex and Type Moon have announced via a trailer that Fate/Stay Night Remastered will be coming to Switch on August 8th. It’s available now on the US Switch eShop for a discounted price of $26.99, which is 10% off the MSRP of $29.99, which will last until August 21st.
This marks the first time that Fate/Stay Night will be available in the west, following on from Type Moon’s first western releases Witch on the Holy Night (also known as Mahoyo) and Tsukihime – Fate’s sister stories.
So far, the Western release appears to be limited to the digital release only, but dedicated fans can look for material from other regions through vendors like Playasia, as all versions are region-free and multilingual.
The following is an excerpt from the game’s eShop listing:
“The remastered version of Fate/stay night, the fantasy action drama, visual novel and TYPE-Moon’s first commercial release in 2004, will be released on Nintendo Switch™ for its 20th anniversary.
The remaster is based on Realta Nu’s 2012 release of Fate/stay night, with the adaptation of the first series in languages such as English and Simplified Chinese, as well as graphics and animations rendered in full HD. Experience in vivid detail the story of Shirou Emiya, a teenager who dreams of becoming a Hero of Justice, and his struggle revolving around the all-powerful wish-granting vessel, the Holy Grail.
With numerous entries in the ever-expanding Fate series, including the Fate/Grand Order mobile game, Fate, the Origin’s curtains rise once again.”
