Over the years, a large number of Final Fantasy games have been released on Nintendo consoles. However, you might be surprised to hear that Final Fantasy Tactics isn’t one of them. The game was released on the PlayStation in 1997, followed by an enhanced port for mobile devices and the PlayStation Portable 10 years later.
Fans have been very vocal about their desire for a remake of Final Fantasy Tactics, including on social media. One person who noticed this was Final Fantasy Tactics director Yasumi Matsuno. Matsuno responded to fans on Twitter asking for a remake of the game, but did so by encouraging fans to play Unicorn Overlord instead. He even told one Twitter user that “I’m praying this new simulation RPG sells over a million copies.” Unicorn Overlord is a tactical RPG released by SEGA and Atlus earlier this month. It is currently available on multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch.
