Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been available to play on Nintendo Switch for a few days now. Because of this, it was only a matter of time before the game’s sales figures arrived. Of course, some UK sales data came in yesterday, and now we’ve got some from France.
According to freelance journalist Oscar Lemaire, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom sold 500,000 physical copies in France in its first week. This data also includes sales of the collector’s edition of the game. That said, Lemaire also says that the game’s launch in France was “a much better start” than Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. In fact, Lemaire says its launch was bigger than the launches of Red Dead Redemption 2 and FIFA 23 in the country.
