Earlier this week, Bandai Namco pulled a surprise Wars for freedom fans with the announcement of a remaster for Switch and numerous other platforms. This game will arrive at January 10 next year and apparently that could open the door for a sequel.
Speaking to IGN, director Takashi Tsukamoto mentioned that he hopes the remaster will be successful enough to “take the next step in potentially releasing a sequel.” Unfortunately, there’s no confirmation right now, but the team has “tons of ideas” if it does move forward:
“As much as we want to share it with you, of course, we don’t know if there will be a sequel, but if there is a sequel, we have a bunch of ideas that we’d like to implement into said sequel.”
Freedom Wars Remastered brings Japan Studio’s PlayStation Vita exclusive to life and celebrates the action RPG’s 10th anniversary with “every favorite feature” of the original game returning along with all sorts of updates and improvements.
