Game Freak acknowledged that its servers had suffered a major data breach and issued a quick statement. The company says that the breach occurred in August 2024 and that they have since taken steps to secure their servers and will strive to prevent a similar recurrence in the future. “Notice and Apology Regarding Leakage of Personal Data After Unauthorized Access
Game Freak Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Satoshi Tajiri; hereinafter referred to as “our company”) disclosed that the personal information of employees and others was leaked in connection with unauthorized access to our server by a third party in August 2024. We sincerely apologize to the inconvenience and concern of all involved.”
