The classic Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire games for the GameBoy Advance were originally to be called Pokemon Indigo and Crimson. The news surfaced via data miners who combined the files and found “藍VERSION” and “朱VERSION” which translates to Indigo Version and Crimson Version, which are apparently the earlier names for Pokémon Sapphire Version and Pokemon Ruby Version. It is not clear why Game Freak decided to change the final names.
