"At the moment we are getting questions about how the potential threat of corillavirus could affect Gamescom. We take this issue very seriously because the health of all our visitors and partners is a top priority.
On 10.03.2020, the city of Cologne banned all major events and more than 1,000 participants to include 10.04.2020 on the basis of a proclamation issued by the state government on the same day. As Gamescom takes place at the end of August 2020, we are not currently affected by this announcement.
However, we will certainly follow the recommendations of the responsible authorities regarding major events, review them daily and make our decisions after careful consideration. Plans for Gamescom 2020 are underway as scheduled depending on the current date format.
If Gamescom is postponed or canceled by Koelnmesse, all official ticket purchases will be refunded for prepaid guest tickets. Voucher codes lose their effectiveness and will be made available again for new events. We look forward to you and your participation. "
If the event continues as planned, it will take place from 25 – 29 August. You can find the official website of the event here.
