To help prevent the distribution of COVID-19 in the United States, stores nationwide are deemed insignificant to close stores temporarily. According to IGN, a video game marketer with a rating problem has decided not to comply with these regulations.

Due to the products we manage that empower and enhance our customers' experience of working from home, we believe GameStop is classified as an important store and therefore able to remain open at this time.
These important products include webcams, microphones, computer mouse, keyboards, monitors, chargers and audio equipment. Games and console devices are not listed.
The same invitation instructs employees to do when local authorities try to close the store:
We have received reports of local authorities visiting the shops in an effort to force closure despite our category being included. Store managers are allowed to provide the document linked below with law enforcement as needed

Many anonymous GameStop employees shared stories about their experiences. One said the company had "no time to pay" and another said that their store was not provided with the cleaning supplies needed to combat the overdose.
