We’ve reported on ratings for many different video games over the years, including games published by Nintendo. Obviously, this also includes games that were released on the Switch. However, you might be surprised to learn how early some of these games can be rated before they are officially released.
For example, the German rating board, or USK, released some new data earlier today. In it, they mention that Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood was rated 301 days before release, which was just a few weeks before the ESRB released its rating for the game. That 301-day period is the longest for a Nintendo game in the region in over a year. The last Nintendo game to have a similar period was Fire Emblem Engage, which received a rating from USK 515 days before release. Below you can see the social media post that transmits the data.
