Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition has received its latest update for the Nintendo Switch, and it appears to be a significant one, with several notable changes and the addition of Classic Lighting mode.
First, here are the official patch notes from Rockstar:
- Numerous fixes and improvements
- Added Classic Lighting mode that restores the look and feel of the sky in the original games
X user and RockstarINTEL writer SynthPotato noted in a post what these “fixes and improvements” entail.
Some of the biggest changes are that the fog from the original games is back, players can fly through clouds in GTA San Andreas, and it’s now possible to pause cutscenes in all three games in the trilogy.
Crouching has also been fixed and the weather change in GTA San Andreas has been improved to where the time differences between areas are now noticeable.
SynthPotato also noted that Grove Street Games, developer of the trilogy, was removed from the show as part of the patch, for unknown reasons.
The update is now available on Nintendo Switch and all other versions of the game.
