Grasshopper Manufacture has been quiet recently. Their most recent game, No More Heroes 3, released last August. And last October, Chinese publisher NetEase Games acquired Grasshopper Manufacture. So far this year, however, news has been few and far between.
That said, that may not be the case for much longer. President and CEO Goichi “Suda51” Suda took part in a short interview video that was published by NetEase Games, where he says that NetEase has been providing them with a lot of support, so much so that they were even able to open a new studio, Yabukiri Studio.
But that’s not all. Suda51 says that the video games that will be made at this brand new studio will continue to be “truly cool” and “all new”, just like fans are used to seeing. In fact, he thinks “everyone is going to be really impressed”.
Suda51 also teased something, more than likely a new game. He states that they’ll be able to reveal it “maybe around the end of the year”, but he warns that he’s not sure and that “it may end up being next year”. Because of that, he says that “we’ll see how it goes”.
