Update: Since the writing of this article, i Kickstarter campaign brought down due to the "smart property" argument. When the campaign launches, the second campaign – labeled & # 39; is false & # 39; by Better Digi – she's gone too. Whether this is related or not, we will definitely find out soon. We've found Better Digi and will update this episode with its feedback when we have it.
Yesterday, we announced the news that Better Digi's Dongii Digii – a switchchart small enough to fit in your pocket – arrived at a fundraiser Kickstarter. We actually have one of those units in the Nintendo Life office for a couple of weeks now, and we've been putting in its parts to see what all the fuss is about. The good news? This little device is a game changer, not only by providing Switch owners an inexpensive and easy-to-find portable option, but also an amazing portable option that can be easily transported with a console if a Visit to your friend and a love of adventure are done.
The Dungii Joins Human Factors & # 39; Gen Convert Dock in the category of teeny, young Switch the docks and you have a single USB-C male on one side, which connects to the power supply (more on that in a second). On the other hand, it offers three ports: HDMI, USB-C and USB-A. The first two are self-explanatory; they connect Dongii to your TV and switch it on in order. The latter is to connect physical devices, such as cord controllers. There is also Bluetooth 5.0 capability to be able to connect the unit to wireless audio devices such as headphones, paired with a virtual button on Dongii itself (it is notable that the cheapest form of Dongii support does not have Bluetooth support).
However, the Dongii itself is only part of the picture – it needs to be connected to a USB-C charger to work properly, and even then, it should be a charger that will provide the necessary juice. When fully assembled, the unit is much smaller than the original switch level,, lest we forget, and requires high voltage transmission to be effective. The storage unit will be accompanied by its 65W GaN charger, but this was not ready when shipped by our review unit, so we used a standard USB 45W block.
While this powers the Dongii right, it does not provide the power of a docked charger with over 65W capacity. And it's not good to look at as it's obviously not designed with Dongii in mind, but the final product will look very attractive. The plus feature of the available Dongii charger is that you can connect it directly to any portable power bank that supports USB-C PD and provide the right amount of power – combine to set up this portable screen, such as the C-Force CF016XT, and take your setup & # 39; the-road & # 39; reaching a whole new level.
Of course, when it comes to third-party watches, the question of security remains. We've had reports of docks broker Switch Contoles in the past, some suggesting that, in the early days of USB-C, the protocol was not all products. However, according to Better Digi, the Dongii benefits from "years of optimization" and "multiple test cycles", meaning it "brings the right voltage and ampgerge to the Switch based on its battery range and guarantees the best performance. safe and secure ".
While we cannot in terms of categories to say this is absolutely true, we didn't find any issues using Dongii a few weeks ago, or using it using the third-party charger described above. Better Digi also says that because Swichi actually & # 39; s not closed & # 39; while in use, heat production is less of an issue. We've all heard strange reports of growth & # 39; fitness & # 39; as it is new inside the pool, but we are not sure if the problem is increasing as better Digi might have believed.
Dongii is a great addition to your Switch, then, but it's not the end of its use; because it supports USB-C rate, it can also be used with devices and others than your switch, like laptops. The USB-A port allows you to connect to Flash Drives and other devices, and you can also use the device to connect your smartphone to a monitor, turning it into a computer that you can carry in your pocket (assuming it has the right function, such as Samsung phones). It is capable of outputing up to 4K resolution for this purpose.
Starting at just $ 29 for a crowdfunding campaign (and then going up to $ 65), the Dongii is likely to be a versatile tool for switch owners. It has already doubled its original Kickstarter value $ 10,000, and if you're currently on the fence about sponsoring this crowdfunding campaign, we recommend giving it a go – especially if you are a great traveler or are simply in the market for a second booth in your home.
