Melon Journey: Bittersweet Memories really caught our eye earlier this month with its pretty green Game Boy-esque visuals and quirky, wonderful characters. So we knew we were had to get our hands on it at PAX East.
And that’s exactly what we did. The lovely Zion and Austin, who are both representing us at the event, headed over to the XSEED Games booth to check out this narrative mystery adventure. We’ve got some hands-on games to show you, as well as our first thoughts and impressions on this bittersweet melon-filled journey.

“The power of just one melon! When Cantaloupe goes missing, melon factory worker Honeydew quits his shift at Eglantine Industries to head to Hog Town, where melons are banned and corruption reigns. As Honeydew’s quest begins, a series of intertwined mysteries begin to unfold in to a brand new story exploration game Melon Journey: Bittersweet Memories. Is the Cavity Crew a real threat? Is Kitten King the cause of all this? Honeydew will have to comb every inch of the green-tinted pixelated world, their every step accompanied by the beats of a jazzy lo-fi soundtrack, to save the day in this monochromatic mystery full of eccentric personalities. Who said so much trouble could come from just one melon?”
