Hideki Kamiya – the man responsible for games like The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 3 – is asking fans to give PlatinumGames’ upcoming project Bayonetta Origins: Creza and the Lost Demon a chance.
In the new one blog post on the company’s official website, the supervising director of Bayonetta Origins implores Bayonetta enthusiasts to “let their guard down” and approach this new game with a “fresh, open mind”:
“ I implore you to let your guard down and approach this title with a fresh, open mind as you dive into an adventure set deep in a mysterious forest, controlling a strange and wonderful duo of somewhat timid and inexperienced young witches and a gruff errant demon.”
He adds that Origins is a “completely new gameplay experience” unlike any previous Bayonetta game, so players won’t need to be familiar with the series or action games:
“We created Bayonetta Origin: Cereza and the Lost Demon with the hope that existing fans of the series will enjoy this unique take on their favorite villainous heroine, while also aiming to provide an unforgettable experience for players who may not be comfortable with action games… or even players unfamiliar with Bayonetta series in first place!”
This new entry is hosted by Adebe Tinari. IN separate blog postthe first Canadian director reveals how this spin-off developed alongside the third game:
“When the third game went into production, I barely tried to join the project as a game designer. However, Kamiya and Inaba had something else in mind.
“They secretly started working on a spin-off, showing a different side of Bayonetta, back when she had no weapons, no hellish demons under her control, and she even lacked her signature swagger. Envisioning the potential for new kinds of gameplay born out of those limitations, I knew I had to be involved! I wrote a pitch for the game and after a few nerve-rack ing presentations, I became the director!”
When Bayonetta Origins arrives on Switch next March, players can expect an “intimate” storybook-like world mixed with action and puzzles.
“Instead of stunning Hollywood movie spectacle and non-stop top-notch action, this time we are focused on telling an intimate story in a world inspired by the subtle lines and pastel colors of an illustrated fairy tale. At times quiet. dark times… I want the player to gradually become attached to Cereza and Cheshire as they ( I hope) lead to the end of their adventure.”
