There is a way to earn the Lapras ex Loot in a single turn, even if you don’t have the powerful Pikachu ex or the Lieutenant Surge Supporter card.
If you already know everything about the Lapras ex loot, you will know that this deck has among its ranks one of the best Water-type cards in the game. To do this, we share our selection of the best cards to counter Lapras, which include the best Lightning-type cards. And this should be enough, based on the JCC Type Table.
But it turns out that there is an even more effective strategy to win this Loot of Lapras ex event with just one card, and on your first turn. All you need to do is follow this guide.

The Pokémon Pocket TCG card to win the Lapras ex Loot in one turn
Those who have played several Lapras Ex Loot matches in the Pokémon Pocket TCG will have noticed that combat can be very competitive. But one player discovered a spectacular case where you can win the matchup with a single attack using Tynamo.
What’s interesting about Tynamo is that its attack deals 30 base points and only requires one energy, which is unusual for the Lightning-type cards available in Formidable Genes. But it also receives 20 points of additional damage against any card in the Lapras ex deck, since they are all Water-type. You are basically guaranteed a 50 damage attack on your first turn.
Getting so much DPS with so little energy can give you victory right away. The SolidanTwitch player shared an example from his event game, where the machine played on its first turn Staryu which has 50 HP. A hit from Tynamo dealt 50 damage, defeating her on her first turn. And because Lapras’s deck didn’t have any benched Pokémon, it was counted as an immediate win.
Use: Using this strategy you can also accomplish the task of winning without using Pokémon with more than three rarity diamonds.
Plan B in case you can’t win in a turn
Assuming you play on the higher difficulties for better rewards, you can earn Lapras Loot in Pokémon Pocket TCG in just a few steps in one turn.
These are the requirements for a one-turn quick game:
- Take out Tynamo on your first turn and put it as the active Pokémon.
- Let the machine put Staryu as the active Pokémon.
- It’s your turn to attack before the machine can play another Pokémon.
If these two conditions are not met, there is a lot of potential for a Lightning-type deck to claim a victory in the following turns. What can happen is that instead of Staryu, you face a Psyduck (60 HP) or Lapras ex (140 HP). Tynamo can leave Psyduck with 10 HP, and even if it evolves into Golduck which has 90 base HP, it would be left with 40 HP that would not resist another attack. The problem is if Golduck uses Water Edge, which does 70 damage.
In the event that Golduck resists or you face against Lapras ex, Heliolisk is another “cheap” option for those who do not have the most powerful cards in the Lightning-type deck (Pikachu ex, Zapdos ex, Raichu and Lieutenant Surge). Heliolisk can deal 80 damage if the coin comes up heads, which becomes 100 thanks to the Lightning weakness. This will be enough to defeat any Golduck and put Lapras ex in trouble using little energy.
You can also use Sabrina to switch Psyduck for Staryu for an easy KO. Or, if you can afford Zebstrika, you can take out the benchers. This is the backup plan in case you can’t win the Lapras ex loot in one turn in the Pokémon Pocket TCG.
