You may remember that a Minecraft movie is in the works. In fact, it has been in the works for many years. At one point it was even slated to release in 2019, something Mojang even confirmed, before it ultimately didn’t happen. The film hasn’t been canceled though and things are starting to look promising now.
A big reason for this is that the roles for the actors are starting to fill. For example, Deadline reported that Jack Black will be part of the cast of the Minecraft movie. According to Deadline, he will play Steve. Screenplay credits are still being determined, so the plot is unknown at this time. So far, Emma Iers, Danielle Brooks and Sebastian Eugene Hansen have also been confirmed as part of the cast.
