One of the most iconic assassins in video games is the Hitman. With multiple titles behind him, some of them very successful and groundbreaking at the time, it seemed that there was more than enough material to design films that were, minimally, similar to the titles and blockbusters.
However, that was not what happened. There have been two Hitman movies and neither of them met the expectations of the fans, generating bland products with little resemblance to video games. However, despite the enormous criticism, there was one interested in making a groundbreaking Hitman movie, James Gunn
The director of well-known films among critics and fans such as Guardians of the Galaxy y the suicide squadas well as the series of HBO Max, The peacemaker, wanted to make his own film about the murderer. This idea, according to the director himself, pleased the studio, but the producer refused to allow Gunn to be part of it, so it was dismissed and, finally, it could not be carried out.
What happened after the studio’s refusal to create a new Hitman tape? After the blow, James Gunn made the fans happy UCMgiven that he managed to start filming in Guardians of the Galaxythe rest is history.
