In a surprising move, Game Freak, the famous developer behind the Pokémon franchise, recently trademarked “PAND LAND,” adding another mystery project to its repertoire. Discovered by Gematsu, the Japanese developer has filed a trademark for the logo for “PAND LAND,” which features two different variations. The Path of Crumbs begins with the initial trademark for “PAND LAND” on November 8, 2023 in Japan. After that, on December 28, 2023, the logo trademarks appeared, which recently made their public debut. The logos, seen for the first time, heighten speculation about Game Freak’s latest venture.
While the connection between “PAND LAND” and the previously revealed Game Freak project, codenamed Project Bloom, remains uncertain, the timing is raising eyebrows. Last May, Game Freak revealed its collaboration with Private Division, known for titles such as The Outer Worlds and Kerbal Space Program, on the mystery action-adventure game Project Bloom. As enthusiasts eagerly await more details, it’s important to note that trademarks don’t always indicate imminent announcements. Game Freak, known for its diverse portfolio outside of Pokémon, has contributed to a number of titles such as Pocket Card Jockey, Giga Wrecker Alt., Little Town Hero and Drill Dozer.
