A recent survey conducted by Japanese recruitment agency Gakujo, which surveyed 5,476 students from across Japan, revealed that Nintendo is currently the third most sought-after company by graduates in the Land of the Rising Sun. The Kyoto-based company is the leading entertainment and gaming company in the rankings, which revealed the 50 most sought-after companies for graduates to work for. The first three are as follows:
- Trading giant: Itochu
- Biotechnology Corporation: Ajinomoto
- Entertainment company: Nintendo
“Of course, Nintendo's comprehensive strengths play a role in this. They have a high rate of paid vacation usage, offer strong parenting support, and have a unique employee points system that can be used for games, books, travel, and more. They also have a deep understanding of diversity and have introduced a partnership system that allows employees with same-sex partners to be treated as married, among other progressive and practical initiatives.” – director of a Japanese recruitment company.
