The latest Japanese boxed-software and video game hardware charts have come through, thanks to the team at sales tracker, Famitsu. The major news for the period of 24th January to 30th January is that Pokemon Legends: Arceus launched and proved to be a massive hit with Japanese gamers, shifting an incredible 1,424,657 boxed copies. Gematsu points out that that Pokemon Legends: Arceus has achieved the second highest opening week sales for a Nintendo Switch game, just behind Animal Crossing: New Horizons which sold 1,880,626 at launch. On the hardware side of things it was the Nintendo Switch family of systems which were the best-selling systems, selling 99,078 units, which isn’t a huge increase over the previous week.
