Sonic co-creator Yuji Naka has pleaded guilty in the first court case against him and another former Square Enix employee to insider trading. Mr Naka told the court that he found out about the games in question before the company made them public and that he bought shares in them to profit financially. The court case revolves around Mr. Naka buying shares of Square Enix’s mobile games, Dragon Quest Tact and Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, before they were released. He bought a total of 130,000 shares, earning more than 20 million yen from the sale”.
