This week’s Japanese charts are now available from Famitsu and it’s another win for Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe which comes out on top again this time, selling 16,458 copies (thanks, Gematsu).
If you think this seems lower than last week, you’d be right (the game had 21,014 sales last week), but with the lack of new titles in the top ten, the ranking is mainly unhindered. PS4 version Resident Evil 4 beat its PS5 counterpart to second place this week, and the rest of the table is a Nintendo-fest.
The usual Pokémon suspects Scarlet and Violet, Splatoon 3 and Minecraft continue to sell well, but this week we also see the return of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Mario Party Superstars which are in ninth and tenth position with weekly sales of 4,916 and 4,019 respectively.

On the hardware side of things, Sony’s PS5 narrowly took the top spot this week with 39,836 units sold, putting it ahead of the Switch OLED with 37,536 — although the standard Switch and Switch Lite’s solid numbers put the number higher than the combined total of all PlayStation models.
The rest of the lineup is as you might expect, jumping between Sony and Nintendo models with the Xbox Series X/S and New 2DS XL at the back.
Here are the Japanese hardware rankings for this week:
- PlayStation 5 – 39,836 (2,826,327)
