We bring you news from the company responsible for the title, EA. It is about Knockout Citywhich announced the official closure of its servers recently although then left the door open for a sequel.
In February 2023, Velan Studios announced that the servers for its free online game would be shut down on June 6 of that year, due to the difficulty of retaining new users and keeping the game active. One year later, Velan Studios is working on two new titles unrelated to Knockout City
In an official message, they have reiterated their love for Knockout City and your desire to return to him when the time is right, without rushing the process. “We know that some of you are looking forward to the return of Knockout City and are disappointed that we have not announced any news about it this week,” they share. “As an indie studio, we love our ability to lean into ideas that excite us, and rest assured, we love KO City as much as you do and we want to bring it back, but not yet.”
“We spent over four years creating the game the first time and We don’t want to rush the process. for the next game in that universe,” they add. “We love that world and can’t imagine not returning to it at some point, when the time is right.”
