Koei Tecmo, publisher of Dynasty Warriors and Atelier games, is looking to make some changes to the mode.
The report comes from a shareholder document translated by Automaton:
The company plans to increase the number of its employees from 2,500 to 5,000 in order to better meet its goal.
This means it will move away from mobile gaming due to the belief that “significant growth is unlikely to be seen” in that market, noting that the mobile scene has reached its peak.
And instead prioritize AAA games that thrive, as the company “expects growth in the console and PC gaming markets,” an argument based on the sizable player base garnered by Stellar Blade and Black Ith: Wukong.
Koei Temo has also established a new in-house game studio as well as a state-of-the-art game engine called the Katana Engine – both of which will be fully utilized to help the company adapt to the market and maintain a stable production of quality titles.
