Original story: Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP didn’t arrive in the best shape when it was released on Switch and many other platforms in September. Fortunately, Dragami Games is slowly improving Juliette’s zombie hunting adventure.
With this in mind, company CEO Yoshima Yasuda has now revealed that the team has “finally” finished work on improving the framerate of Nintendo’s iteration. According to the translation, the team “selected 45 scenes” where the number of frames per second had extreme drops and worked to reduce the “processing load and decentralize the loading process.”
The update (officially called the “frame rate improvement update”) still needs to go through the approval process, but once it’s done, here’s a sample of what you can expect:
According to recent figures, this hack-and-slash cult classic has been quite a success for Dragami Games – significantly exceeding its parent company’s initial sales targets and also providing an “unexpected financial boost” (GameBiz via Automaton):
“Extreme is revising its consolidated earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2025 after Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP significantly exceeded initial sales targets.
“…Extreme updated its annual forecast upward for all metrics, including a projected increase in net sales of 5.9% and an increase in net profit of an impressive 52.1%.”
