If you’ve already seen The Mario Movie a dozen times and are looking for a fresh way to enjoy this animated film, read on… Illumination and Nintendo have announced special screenings in Japanese starting April 28th. These special screenings in the US and Canada coincide with the film’s Japanese release date.
GoNintendo points out that these screenings will apparently be “Japanese without English subtitles”, but this could be on a case-by-case basis, depending on the cinema.
Miyamoto also revealed that the Japanese version of the film is not the standard translation of the American release. It was actually handled by Nintendo to create a more engaging experience for the company’s domestic audience (thanks, VGC).
