Following the success of Sonic and Detective Pikachu's movie, Hollywood is now scratching its lips in hopes of reaching more action-packed (CGI) movies based on popular video games. It helps, however, to know what the fans want, and according to a recent polls operated by The Hollywood Reporter and Morning Consult, is a Hollywood movie.
This poll conducted in the United States found that 44 percent of the 2,200 respondents may have been "somewhat" or "very" interested in a new live-action film based on the Super Mario series. Given the nature of the video game series, we may not be too surprised. While 1993 Super Super Bros. The film starring Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo, and Dennis Hopper in the horror, gained a cult following years ago.
Other long-term series such as Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty and History of Zelda the chain follows Mario. One of the most intriguing and most frightening selections was the Mario Kart movie. More than 34 percent are interested in seeing this on the big screen.

While we may not be getting a Mario action movie anytime soon, Nintendo and Illumination are currently working on a animated film. It is slated to be released in theaters by 2022.
