Last month Nintendo announced some more first party games for this year. So, in the last 2 weeks, the Entertainment Software Ratings Board, or ESRB for short, released ratings for games in the United States. One of them is Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood, which is scheduled to be released on Nintendo Switch on November 7th.
The ESRB rated Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood “E” for “All”, with the additional note that the game contains “mild fantasy violence”. As for the rating summary, it’s nothing out of the ordinary for a Mario & Luigi game. However, they do mention that Mario and Luigi have an adventure “on strange islands”. You can see the full summary of the rating below.
Evaluation summary
This is an adventure platformer/role-playing game where players control Mario and Luigi through an adventure on strange islands. From a top-down 3D perspective, players explore islands, solve puzzles, and battle cartoon enemies (eg, bow creatures, turtle skeletons, giant plants). Combat is turn-based, with players choosing moves before watching characters take turns attacking/defending. Characters mainly use sledgehammers, oversized bombs and turtle shells to attack, and also jump on the heads of enemies.
