We have already seen that video games are having a lot of presence in Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Today we get more information about it.
Apparently a trainer has decided to bring a Link amiibo from Zelda: Ocarina of Time as a charm to tryouts. Is about Marjorie Heuls, a Belgian gymnastics coach, who wears the figure as a charm after giving her students luck in previous competitions.
Nina Derwael, one of them, has won the Olympic gold medal in women’s uneven bars at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and Heuls showed the figure on camera. In statements to HLN, has shared that it is a gift that his son gave him in 2017 and that, after becoming an amulet, he has always carried it with him to competitions.

However, this news has also caused some controversy because in the images we can clearly see that the figure NFC base missing, and fans have not overlooked it especially considering that at some point the amiibo suffered a “mutilation” despite being one of the most difficult figures to find. Additionally, in statements to HLN, Heuls has referred to Link as “Zelda.”
Still, it’s certainly a nice gesture that we hope will continue to bring you luck in future competitions. What do you think about it? We read you in the comments.
