Following its announcement in the Nintendo Direct, as well as the announcement of its physical release, it seems that more details have been offered regarding this cartridge release. You already know that the physical release of this Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics will include all the games on cartridge or disc, eliminating the need for additional downloads.
It has now been confirmed that this installment could lead to more releases in the future. In an interview by Dexerto with the producer Shuhei Matsumoto“Bringing these classics to fans and introducing the franchise to newcomers could pave the way for something new down the road.”
“The development team of Capcom has big dreams…if that were to happen, it would take some time and effort to create and release those kinds of games, but in the short term, what we can do now is at least reintroduce these older games to a new audience, to people who may not have the opportunity to play them, because they may not be available on modern or current platforms,” he says.
“What we can at least do now is prove that these series existWe love these games. We hope you like them too, and maybe in the future, if people become familiar with these series, there may be future opportunities to make bigger games.”
