You already know that he June 12 McDonald’s mascot Grimace’s birthday was celebrated. To celebrate, McDonald’s has released a new Game Boy/Game Boy Color style game called “Grimace’s Birthday”. Well now we’ve met part of his nintenderas inspirations.
GameXplain has shared an exclusive interview with Tom Lockwood, the game and level designer behind Grimace’s Birthday. He has confirmed that he was inspired by iconic games like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater y la saga Kirbyand mentions that the game development process took them 7 weeks.

- The game can be played for free on the official website of “Grimace’s Birthday”
- In the game, Grimace must reach the goal point of each stage before time runs out.
- The first two levels involve Grimace skating, while the last two stages go barefoot.
- Throughout the game’s four levels, there are 40 Grimace milkshakes to collect, scattered throughout the levels.
- The Darkside Grind and 50-50 Grinds moves are done automatically when grinding on rails on Normal difficulty.
- On Hard difficulty, Grimace must manually grind using the UP and DOWN buttons, otherwise he will derail.
- Game points are doubled if played on the Hard difficulty setting.
