The first part of Konami’s Metal Gear Solid Collection has been available to play for several months now. Since then, Konami has gradually released updates that polish the collection and its individual games, as well as fix various bugs that were discovered after the release of the collection.
This latest example of this is no different. Konami recently updated the game to version 1.4.0, although it’s worth noting that this update is only for the console versions of the game, including the Nintendo Switch version. That’s because the Steam version was already released last month. You can see the patch notes below.

- Added new display settings features
- The following features have been added.
- The settings for each of these features can be changed before and during gameplay.

- It can be turned on or off.
- Smooths the image when on, creates a sharp image when off.

- Game volume and main menu volume settings can be changed before playing.
- During the game, only the game volume can be changed.
- Added controller response speed adjustment feature (Steam).
- Can choose between “Fast” (new!) and “Stable”.
- Some settings may have unstable performance when set to “Fast”.
- If you have such problems, please change the settings to “Stable”.
- A fix has been applied so that the game favors the user setup button design (Steam).
- Fixed some other minor issues.
Metal Gear Solid 2: Master Collection Version Sons of Liberty
- Added audio settings feature.
- Game volume and main menu volume settings can be changed before playing.
- During the game, only the game volume can be changed.
Added “Window mode” (Steam).
- Added the ability to change the game to “Window mode” before playing.
- This feature can be turned on or off by pressing Alt + Enter on the keyboard
- A fix has been applied so that the game favors the user setup button design (Steam).
- Fixed an issue where the laser pointer would not display during certain cutscenes (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|Sand Steam).
- Fixed an issue where sea lice would not display correctly during certain cutscenes.
- Fixed some other minor issues.
The main collection version of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
- Added audio settings feature.
- Game volume and main menu volume settings can be changed before playing.
- During the game, only the game volume can be changed.
