What Metro 2033 released back in 2010, it has been a showcase show featuring the latest consoles and custom-built PCs with a wringer. Rebuilt from the ground up in 2014 for this improved version of the & # 39; Redux & # 39; to bring your visuals and gameplay to the next level, Metro: The Last Light, it seems unlikely that we're now looking at a heavy-duty behemoth that is successfully displayed on what is a mobile platform.
And yet we are here. Not only has 4A Games been able to pull the entire experience on the switch, but it has also done it with a port that sits alongside another excellent survival theme, Alien: Solate, like the most impressive we've seen so far on the console. This is a Metro 2033 Redux oil-filled experience, it looks approx it is similar to the PS4 / Xbox One versions of the game and is more robust and stable at 30fps in both handheld and handheld modes. Pадоваться!
For unbelievers, Metro 2033 is based on a 2002 novel of the same name by Dmitry Glukhovsky. It tells the story of the last remaining packs of humanity fighting for survival after a nuclear war; surviving residents who find themselves in deep trouble in the underground tunnel under Moscow's water-deprived ruins. She takes on the role of Artyom, the right young rapist who has sent a life or death journey through the qualifications of the Metro program – and a few landings, skeletons of the upper city – to seek its help from the delightful home speaker, The Show. It's a journey that sees Artyom jumping, stabbing and firing in ruthless, war-ridden city strikes and taking the Nazis behind to find his way to save his home and find out the truth about The Dark Them, the mysterious visitors who have made their home in a world beyond Metro and Artyom seemed to share some kind of psychological bond with him.
The biggest force of Metro 2033 lies in how to masterfully combine the slow and heavy horror gameplay with action-packed moments while focusing on its compelling narrative and – with its Redux involvement – all of this stuff has been polished to near perfection. as well as many changes that remove the bulk of the jank that existed in the original version of the game.
Here, Artyom's journey benefits immensely from enemy AI advances and clever mechanics that are well-prepared to correct the frustrated players they had with the 2010 game version. Stealth works as it should now, weapons work smoothly and there are easy-to-use radial menus that facilitate the selection of various gadgets and Artyom guns. The visual, too, is completely transformed by new character models, improved lighting, stronger weather, improved particle effects and refurbished levels, all of which means everything is going well. Surprisingly, all this causing it to switch to the Switch version of a lightweight and neutral game.
The pointed Metro tunnels you pass through break through human enemies and take down as you see fit, but there's more to think about than this. You will need to be constantly aware of your surroundings, with tripwires, traps and waterproof parts both above and below that require you to equip your reliable gas mask and regularly monitor how long the air filters are.
The light plays a big part too, with Artyom's clock showing whether or not he can now be seen by his enemies. You will need to move slowly and carefully to areas, removing light sources to remain in the shadows and cleverly removing enemy threats with muted weapons or dust-pulling where possible; doing all you can to attract as little attention as possible to the order of the day. There are a too much just enough sense of the weight of Artyom's performance, with detailed and believable photos showing the effort of all his action, no matter how unusual. This flesh does wonders to pull you completely out of the normal routine of the process as you build your own path towards your goals.
indeed, it is from this slow and playful gameplay that Metro 2033 takes its toll and it is only when the game forces large parts of the action on you that the drunk spelling breaks for a while. There are a handful of times when you will have to deal with changing waves, and these are the weakest parts of the game, highlighting a combat system that is less involved in full blows and enemy AI making it a more believable task to play an unknown opponent in the shadows.
Aside from all the stealing and sneezing, and the live show on these awesome Metro 2033 stations that are able to take off nicely. As you move from the Exhibition to your last high-end apartment in Moscow, you will take place in the pockets of humanity; thirsty people living a thirsty life, refusing to give up, clinging to the past and a lifestyle that never existed. It often evokes surprises, with families huddled together in clutches, metal beams, bizarre and confused children … people who try their best to fix their bad situation. The negative side of humanity is there, too; the old and political conflicts are still flourishing, albeit in the face of final destruction.
In addition to major technological changes, the Metro 2033 Redux also adds a new gaming style that gives players more choice in how they experience the game. Next to the original automatic survival style that sees all the gas arrows, all the equipment and tools you need to be very useful, here you find a Spartan mode that matches the game's style of its most-accomplished sequences. Weapons, ammo and basic survival kits are all available in great quantities, ensuring Artyom can deliver combat to both shifting enemies and human enemies at standard and extremely high FPS speeds. For us, the fast-paced, exaggerated, threatening first style – where resource management and careful planning is the order of the day – showcases the best gameplay operators, but it's still nice to have a selection here and a new action-limited style is certainly a fun introduction to the Metro world.
Once you have selected any of these modes you get to choose from four difficulty levels, from standard basic difficulty – non-copy – up to the & # 39; Ranger & # 39; installed hardwood, which sees your HUD, UI and all your tips and advice completely
According to this switch station, as we mentioned, 4A did a stellar job here. For both used and portable modes, this one plays at a flawless 30FPS with a resolution that produces 720p, while the dock sees the game sticking to 1080p for most of its working time. A quick reminder: this is a game that runs at 900p on an Xbox One base; There is no telling how wonderful it is here. It looks amazingly similar to its PS4 and Xbox One counterparts and is test so close that you'll be able to see the expected texture and dedication of detail that has been made to make this all possible.
In portable mode, the small screen also makes everything look really neat and clear with the natural darkness of the game that helps to hide the subtleties and hand gestures – like a good heavy weight rating – that keeps the brightness flowing smoothly during your adventure. It might be a half framerate run but, to be honest, the slow and heavy nature of the gameplay means this doesn't really matter as much as it would do in a faster FPS. Controls feel strong and responsive; we did not see any input or sleep delays during playback and those adjustable weapons and gadget menu menus made selecting your firearms, ammo, gas masks or air conditioners. This modified version also brings rust and HD motion to the table, and this really helps with those looking for an overnight showdown on a hot enemy blast.
One area that has not gone well, however, is loading times. For the most part, the levels load very fast but there are times when we stayed longer (full minute) so that some equipment would start at the top. It's not ready for sure, but it is annoying that once you level up, reloading to death is almost the same. Judging by all this port is doing to bring it to the table, we are more than willing to let this one aspect go.
Conclusion
The Metro 2033 Redux is the first game of a top-class shooter / survival horror, a breathless experience that is almost incorrectly labeled flawless for a turn by 4A Games. Artyom's sailing, tragic expedition against the invaded remains of Moscow is just as relevant today as it was when it was first released in 2010, and this Redux edition is benefiting too much from highly-regarded AI, gameplay mechanics and visuals. Depending on the first person shootings or survival horror games on Nintendo console, this is one of the best.
