The Pokémon Company International has announced updates for Pokémon UNITE to celebrate the second anniversary of the strategic Pokémon team battle. Updates include:
- Mewtwo joins the fray: Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo is now available in Pokémon UNITE. Players can get a free Unite license for Mega Mewtwo X by participating in Mewtwo’s Crystal Cave Challenge event that is currently taking place. This Unite license will allow Mewtwo to Mega Evolve into Mega Mewtwo X during battle, allowing for fast and relentless attacks. The Unite license for Mega Mewtwo Y will be available to players free of charge in mid-August.
- Panic Parade events: Panic Parade is a new type of battle that differs from the standard 5v5 battle format, where players must work together to protect Tinkaton from attacks by panicked Pokémon. The Panic Parade will take place from July 21 to August 21.
- Battle Pass 17: Striker Battle Pass 17 is available now, allowing players to obtain Marine Style: Greedent and Captain Style: Zacian Holowear, along with the exclusive Captain Set Trainer fashion items.

- Event Three: Friday, August 11th at 8:00pm EST/5:00pm PST through Monday, August 14th at 7:59pm EST/4:59pm PST
- Event Four: Friday, August 18th at 8:00pm EST/5:00pm PST through Monday, August 21st at 7:59pm EST/4:59pm PST
