Microsoft is announcing changes to game development in an effort to bring results closer to those of Nintendo and Sony

news page, Axios, sat down with Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty to discuss the future of the Xbox brand after a relatively successful launch last Sunday. Booty told the site that they are “adopting longer development cycles” and “collaborating more with each other” after the failure that Redfall from Arkane Studio. Booty says the moves are part of a plan “to bring Microsoft’s game production closer to the frequent excellence of rivals Sony and Nintendo.” The company also said it is abandoning the last-gen Xbox One, with Xbox Game Studios games now being made for Xbox Series X|S consoles, except for Minecraft. Xbox One owners can stream future games through the Xbox Cloud Gaming service.
