We’re fast approaching the release of MLB The Show 24 on March 19. Before we get down to business, however, Nintendo has shared a first look at how the next entry in the baseball series runs on Switch in a brand new gameplay trailer.
At just 30 seconds long, there’s not much to sink your teeth into. The focus of the trailer is on the Switch, though, so it gives a pretty good idea of what the field will look like on Nintendo’s hybrid next month.
In short, it looks exactly as expected. Anyone who’s played an MLB game on the Switch in the past will be familiar with the kind of visuals we’re dealing with here, and while the new trailer looks like something of an upgrade to what we saw in MLB The Show 23, it’s not going to knock it out of the park.
As with all sports games on the Switch, the real question will be whether the gameplay of this one can overcome its visual reductions. MLB The Show 24 offers all the usual game modes, with Franchise, Road to the Show, Storylines and Diamond Dynasty returning. Cross-platform co-op is also available for those who want to play against any PlayStation/Xbox friend.
It’ll be a while before this one hits the Switch next month. You can pre-order MLB The Show 24 from Change eShop f or £49.99 / $59.99
