While the Mortal Kombat 1 team has so far shown strong support for the Switch version of the game with updates and all DLC, it seems that the cross-play feature may skip Nintendo’s hybrid system.
IN live stream early this weekNetherRealm has confirmed that cross-play is coming February 2024 on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Unfortunately, there was no mention or mention of a Switch version of the game.
NetherRealm: “Cross-play is coming in February between PS5, Xbox and PC, so we’re really excited about that.”
Cross-play previously skipped the Switch version of Mortal Kombat 11 (and PC at the time). While there’s still a chance that the Switch edition will get an update for Mortal Kombat 1 multiplayer, it’s probably best not to get your hopes up.
Despite the Switch’s technical differences, many developers still include cross-play for Nintendo versions of their games – even in more competitive titles. Note that performance varies between platforms.
