Mortal Kombat 1 was recently announced for the Switch, but it’s not yet clear how it will compare to the next-gen versions.
If you were wondering who is in charge of this version, Official Mortal Kombat 1 FAQ The website reveals that Shiver Entertainment (Mortal Kombat 11) is returning and will be assisted by Saber Interactive – probably best known for their work on the Witcher 3 Switch port.
Comicbook.com also recently spoke with NetherRealm’s Lead Systems Designer Derek Kirtzic about the Switch release. He mentioned that the goal is to deliver a “quality product” for all fans:
“So we’re not working closely with the Switch version. Obviously, we’ll look at it, we’ll review it. But we have that with our external groups, just like we did with MK11. AND MK11 felt good. Played great on Switch. And again, it’s up to us to make sure it’s a quality product for the users, the people who buy it 100 percent all the time.”
In our own hands with Mortal Kombat 1 at Summer Game Fest, we were absolutely blown away, but we wondered how the Switch would keep up with the game’s stunning presentation.
