Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood starts on the 7thth November for Nintendo Switch. To prepare for the first completely new adventure in Mario & Luigi RPG series from 2015, new Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood – an island hopping adventure awaits you! A mysterious power has split the world of Concordia into many scattered islands, and it’s up to Mario and Luigi to reconnect them. Together they venture to Shipshape Island – part ship, part island – and set off from their cannon to visit, explore and quest through a multitude of different islands, ranging from tropical rainforests to bustling cities. During their journey, the two brothers will meet helpful new friends like Connie and Snoutlet (who is definitely not a pig) and meet familiar characters from the Mushroom Kingdom like Peach and Bowser.
In order to reconnect Concordia, players will have to harness the power of Mario and Luigi’s brotherly bond. To overcome challenges and bypass obstacles, the two use Bros. Moves – like merging the mustachioed duo into a ball or throwing fire and ice balls to melt or freeze any obstacles. In battle, players can use the powerful Bros. attacks such as the Zapperator in a dynamic twist of turn-based combat, where well-timed attacks, dodges and counter-attacks are key to defeating enemies.
In addition, equipping Battle Plugs for additional abilities can give Mario and Luigi strategic advantages, such as creating a shockwave to damage multiple enemies or guaranteed critical hits against flying enemies. Players can experiment with creative combinations to layer different effects and see what happens.
The power of Luigi’s inventive mind is brought into play with Luigi Logic, which can lend a helping hand during exploration and boss fights. While his flashes of inspiration can be unconventional at times, they will help Mario solve puzzles, collect items, and deal massive damage to even bigger villains.
