As we have been able to learn after Nintendo explained what has happened with the NSMB series, it has now been confirmed that in New Super Mario Bros. Wii Bowser has an anomaly in his 3D model: his nose, in its original state, is much larger than what is shown in-game. Normally, the model’s control points (or “bones”) are scaled to their original size, but Bowser’s nose is always scaled to 0.525x, so its true size is never seen in-game.
Manually scaling it back to its original size (1x) reveals the true appearance of Bowser’s nose, which is significantly larger than the one used in the game. You can check it out below:
