Dear newspaper publication, Nikkei, which is usually full of rumours, published a new article about the Kyoto-based company today after Nintendo released its latest sales figures. One of Nikkei’s sources close to Nintendo says that development of the next-gen system “seems to be progressing well”, although the launch is not thought to happen before next spring “at the earliest”.
To make up for the Switch’s decline and get back on the growth track, many are calling for the company to unveil a new console. Rumor has it that one is due out next year. “Development seems to be progressing well,” a source close to Nintendo told Nikkei Asia. “But the product launch won’t happen until next spring at the earliest.”
