Believe it or not, Splatoon 3 has already been available to play for several years. Since then, the game has received a very steady stream of support, including new Splatfests, updates, and additional content and features. However, with the announcement of the Grand Festival Splatfest, there was speculation that Nintendo would somehow pull back from supporting the game.
Well, it seems so. After the results of the Grand Festival were announced, Nintendo confirmed via a social media post from the North American Splatoon account that regular updates would be coming to an end. This means that there will be no more new Splatfest threads, and updates containing new content have now stopped. However, there will still be Splatfests with returning themes, and updates for weapon customizations will continue to be released whenever they are needed.
