Video game companies have been spending a lot of time acquiring each other’s services lately. Nintendo wasn’t really involved in it, but that has changed now. Nintendo has officially announced that it has acquired Shiver Entertainment. They will receive “100% of the remaining shares” of the company.
If you don’t know what Shiver Entertainment is, they were previously part of the Embracer Group. Most of their work lately has been game streaming. They were the ones who ported Mortal Kombat 11 and Mortal Kombat 1 to Switch and developed Scribblenauts Showdown. According to Nintendo, “Shiver’s focus will remain the same, continuing to commission ports and software development for multiple platforms including the Nintendo Switch.”
