This year has not been good for the video game industry. Despite the large number of games released, including Switch games, just as many employees were laid off. Many studios are also closed. So it’s not surprising that fans are concerned that Nintendo could be heading down a similar path. So far, that hasn’t really happened.
However, rumors that Nintendo was laying off employees from Mario Club Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Nintendo, did not help matters. Fortunately, the company put those rumors to rest. A Nintendo spokesperson recently sent a statement to Eurogamer, saying that “we have confirmed with Mario Club Co., Ltd. that the rumors in the report are false.”
